The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild famously breaks away from tradition by swapping Link's traditional green garb for the blue Champion's Tunic. However, the game still pays homage to history by allowing dedicated adventurers to unlock the iconic green outfit, known as the Tunic of the Wild. The Ultimate Completionist Challenge
Acquiring this historic piece of clothing requires players to complete every single ancient testing ground scattered across the map. Link must successfully finish all 120 Shrines of Trials available in the base game to prove his worth to the ancient monks. This long journey takes hours of puzzle-solving and combat, making the final reward highly exclusive.Once the final shrine is cleared, a special side quest titled A Gift from the Monks will automatically trigger in your log. This quest directs the player to a long-forgotten location where the reward awaits. It ensures that only those who have truly mastered Hyrule can wear the legendary green thread.
Finding the Forgotten Temple
To claim your hard-earned prize, you must travel to the deep canyon located at the northern edge of the Tabantha Frontier. Hidden at the very end of this massive ravine sits the Forgotten Temple, a structure heavily guarded by stationary Guardian Stalkers. Navigating past these laser-focused ancient machines requires careful paragliding or skilled shield parrying.
Once you reach the innermost chamber of the temple, you will discover the oldest and largest Statue of the Goddess in the game. In front of this massive stone monument, three ancient treasure chests will materialize out of the ground. Opening the central chest grants you the Tunic of the Wild, completing the legendary outfit alongside the matching cap and trousers.
Stats and Upgrades at the Great Fairy
The Tunic of the Wild offers a solid base defense rating of 4, but its true power shines after being upgraded. By visiting the various Great Fairy Fountains hidden around the world, you can increase its defensive capabilities significantly. Maxing out the entire set requires rare materials, including dragon parts harvested from Farosh, Naydra, and Dinraal.
When the entire Wild Set is upgraded to at least level two, players unlock a powerful set bonus called Master Sword Beam Up. This unique attribute enhances the energy blasts thrown by the Master Sword, letting you strike enemies from much further distances at full health. Additionally, this armor piece can be customized at the Hateno Dye Shop if you want to experiment with alternative color schemes.
